SaaS: Sysdig Monitor Release Notes

Improved Alert Evaluation Pauses

Sysdig has improved the capability to temporarily pause alert evaluation. You can pause alert evaluation for a specified duration, while ensuring visibility into who initiated the pause and how long it will last.

  • Duration Support: You can now specify how long the pause should last. This helps to prevent alerts from being unintentionally paused indefinitely.
  • Improved Visibility: When the downtime toggle is active, banners appear in the Alert List and Event Feed to indicate that alert evaluations are paused and show who paused them.

To learn how to pause all alert evaluations, see Pause Alerts for Downtime.

Improved Event Detail Panel

Sysdig has made the following improvements to the Event Detail Panel:

  • Decluttered layout: Segment and Scope sections now collapse and expand to better organize events with extensive label-sets.
  • One-click filters: You can now include or exclude events by labels with a single click.
  • Searchable labels: You can now search for specific label keys or values.

You can access the Event Detail panel by clicking on any event in the Events Feed. For more details, see Review Events.

Multi-Factor Authentication

Users can now enable Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to add an additional layer of validation to their login. Once enabled, each login to Sysdig Monitor or Sysdig Secure must be validated with an authenticator app, such as Okta Verify or Google Authenticator. This improves your login security. For more details, see Multi-Factor Authentication.

Improved Alert Editor for Event Alerts With Automatic Time Window Selection

The Alert Editor for Event Alerts now automatically selects the optimal time window based on the configured Count Over Last parameter. As a result, the previous options for manually-configured time windows (1h, 6h, 1D, 1W, and 2W) have been removed. This ensure the Alert Editor preview accurately reflects the alert rule evaluation.

Increasing the Count Over Last value will continue to reduce the frequency of alert evaluations, just as it did before. For details, see Frequency of Alert Rule Evaluation.

Additionally, each data point in the Alert Editor now directly corresponds to an alert rule evaluation, providing clearer visibility into the expected alerting behavior.

Automate Orphaned Alert Occurrence Resolution or Deactivation

Depending on the alert type, you can now configure an alert occurrence to automatically deactivate or resolve when the triggering entity, such as a host or container, has stopped reporting data.

Entities may cease to report data during scaling events or on dynamic workloads. Deactivating or resolving orphaned alert occurrences eliminates false positives and ensures only alert occurrences from entities that actually exist are reported in the system.

Availability of this feature depends on the alert type. For more details, see Deactivate or Resolve Orphaned Alert Occurrences Automatically

Piechart Visualizations for Dashboard Panels

You can now visualize data with pie charts in Sysdig Monitor Dashboards. To get started, open or create a dashboard panel, and choose the visualization type Piechart. Pie charts present segmented data in a visually appealing and intuitive way. You can customize your pie chart, and select its expression from a wide range of units, such as dollars, terabytes, and microseconds. For more details, see Piechart

Wasted Workload Spend Reports

Sysdig added a new report type to the Costs Reports module. The Wasted Workload Spend Report provides detailed insights into workload-level resource consumption. It calculates Accrued Cost, Estimated Rightsizing Spend, and Wasted Spend to identify unused CPU and memory resources. This helps your organization optimize costs. For more details, see Wasted Workload Spend Report.
