Google OAuth (SaaS)

In Sysdig SaaS environments, Google users have the option to log in using Google OAuth. As the SaaS platform is preconfigured to permit such logins, environments that already use Google services, such as Google Workspace, might find this the most convenient approach for simplified login.

Enable Google OAuth

Google OAuth is pre-configured by Sysdig, so you can simply select it as the preferred authentication option.

  1. Log in to Sysdig Monitor or Sysdig Secure as an administrator, and open the user menu.

  2. Select Settings > Authentication (SSO).

  3. From the Enable Single Sign on drop-down, select Google OAuth.

To see the preconfigured settings, under Connection Settings, select the Google OAuth tab.

  4. Click Set Authentication to save your choice.

  5. Repeat for Sysdig Monitor or Sysdig Secure, if you want to enable it on both the applications.

User Experience

This section provides insight into the login experience of an end user.

Prerequisites

Note the following requirements for successful Google OAuth login:

  • The user must already have logged in successfully at least once to your environment, having used an email-based invitation and set an initial password.

  • The username used in the Sysdig platform must precisely match the Google email address of the user. That is, it cannot be a shortened or an altered Google email alias.

User Login

For a valid user to log in to Sysdig using Google OAuth:

  1. Open the Sysdig application in a browser.
  2. Select Login with Google .

If the user’s browser has not been already authenticated via Google, and has multiple Google profiles known by their browser, they will be presented a Google page to select a profile and enter a password (if necessary) before being redirected back to your Sysdig environment.
